Biography

Amulti-portfolio entrepreneur, Winihin Jemide is a confident and articulate storyteller, seasoned horticultural practitioner, and life-design & emotional wellness mentor, who seamlessly integrates acting, oral storytelling, and consultancy into her work. She is the Initiator and Chief Vision Officer of The Circles Africa, an initiative dedicated to preserving African culture and history, promoting green literacy and emotional wellness.

Her storytelling explores four core themes: African history, Humans Rising, the beauty of gardening, and faith, while serving as a vehicle for leadership development through Africa Uninterrupted.

Winihin is the Convener of The Garden and Flower Show Nigeria (2013–2022), she is the Founder of The Floriculture Project, which champions the commercialization of Nigeria's floriculture industry. 

Deeply committed to social impact and gender advocacy, she continues to create platforms and initiatives that drive meaningful change across communities. Through her work, she transforms stories into practical tools for leadership development, inspiring audiences to reflect, learn, and take purposeful action.

The Journey

  1. 1977

    Lead Debater, Port Harcourt Primary School. Her debates were aired on NTA Port Harcourt until 1979.

  2. 1978

    Had her first stage performance, playing Mary in a Christmas Pageant.

  3. 1979

    Performed as a dancer in a cultural troupe during a passing-out ceremony.

  4. 1983

    Contested in CAIPO (Poetry Category) and won on both occasions.

  5. 1985

    Consistently performed her original poetry throughout Form 1 to Form 5.

  6. 1989

    Graduated with a Law Degree.

  7. 1993

    Obtained a Diploma in Interior Design and started Pretty Things, a floral arrangement business.

  8. 1994

    Executed the first Valentine's and Christmas floral services under Pretty Things.

  9. 1995

    Founded Patch of Green, a landscaping and garden maintenance company.

    Also got married.

  10. 2000

    Started flower farming with crops including:

    • Heliconia
    • Ginger Antonia
    • Lobster Claw
    • Consoling Rose
  11. 2004

    Launched Nigeria Through the Keyhole, a storytelling experience introducing expatriates to life, culture, and society in Nigeria.

  12. 2013

    Published the coffee table book: Imagine a Garden.

    Also launched The Garden and Flower Show of Nigeria, which ran until 2022.

  13. 2016

    Published a landmark Research and Ranking Report on Female Representation at State and Local Government Levels in Nigeria (1999–2015).

  14. 2017

    Produced Fela and The Kalakuta Queens — A BAP Stage Production.

  15. 2019

    Featured as Oge Briggs in Bling Lagosians, now showing on Netflix.

  16. 2020

    Convened The Stories of Us: Women and Youth in Governance and Politics.

  17. 2021

    Featured as Mrs Osai in Charge and Bail, now showing on Amazon Prime.

  18. 2025

    Convened the first Storytelling Summit at Alliance Française.

    Produced Africa Uninterrupted: The Stories of Us I at the Lagos International Theatre Festival (LITF).

  19. 2026

    Published the updated Ranking Report on Female Representation at State and Local Government Levels in Nigeria (2015–2025), ten years after the first report.

  20. 2026

    Started a strategic collaboration with the Ghana Garden and Flower Movement.

  21. Q4 2026
